Tips on How to Straighten Hair
So if you are like many teens and women you really love the look of super straight sexy hair. The trouble is that you don't know how to accomplish that style. In this article we will talk about how to straighten hair. We will go over the best flat irons on the market, hair straightening products, and accomplishing the style you want.
When you get ready to straighten your hair it is important that you have a really good flat iron to do it with. There are many different sites online that review products. Check these sites out for some great information on different brands of flat irons.
You know when buying some products the general rule of thumb is that just because a product is more expensive doesn't mean that it is better. This is just not the case with flat irons. The $20.00 iron at your local drug store will not work as well as a flat iron that costs more. You need an iron that provides ceramic plates and has a temperature of at least 400 degrees.
I rarely ever use a product for hair straightening on my hair. This is because I find that they just don't make much of a difference on my curly hair. It's up to you though. You might find a straightening balm that you love at your local drug store. This is fine as well and these products are not going to hurt your hair; however I'll stick with my trusty bottle of hairspray.
I've found that the best way to straighten my hair is to do it in very small sections. The first thing you need to do is find a hair band or a clip that is large enough to hold all of your hair up off your neck. Next put all of your hair up except a very thin layer in the back. Think about separating your hair into 10 horizontal sections.
I usually start with about a third of the section. Spray it with hair spray and quickly slide your flat iron form your head to the ends of your hair. Repeat this on the other two thirds of the section. Now you will want to bring down the next section of hair. If you find that your hair is not as straight as you like, pull the flat iron through each section a second or third time.
If you have extremely thick hair this process can take a long time. Consider only washing your hair every other day so you don't have to spend so much time straightening every morning. Only washing your hair every other day has some benefits as well. The natural oils in your hair will help to make your hair feel softer, even if your hair is naturally very coarse.
