Hair Extensions
are a great way to obtain longer and fuller hair. Achieved using either human
or synthetic hair, the process of attached hair extensions includes using small
strands of the hair and attaching these to the clients natural hair, helping to
create a thick, natural and long style.
There are a
number of different methods that can be utilised in order to attach hair
extensions, each having their own advantages and disadvantages to the wearer. Hair
extensions have been utilised for many years, originally launched back in the
1980’s, but it has only been over the past few years that technological
advancements in the industry have been made, offering wearers with more variety
and safer options of application.
As a result
of more choice in terms of how extensions can be applied, many women are even
opting for hair extensions as a way in which to add immediate highlights to
their hair. The quick and easy application methods allow for highlights without
the use of dyes or chemicals which can be damaging to the hair. Hair extensions
allow the client to dramatically change their look which in turn, has made them
popular for events such as weddings, prom and other special occasions.
Due to the large volume of celebrities that have been seen sporting hair
extensions, this salon treatment is becoming more popular every year in salons
across the globe. As one would expect, some brands are quite expensive but in
the price, you are gaining quality. Human hair extensions, such as Great
Lengths come in several different qualities and are imported from several
different origins. With each brand of extension there is a specified method of
application which a skilled hair extension specialist will be aware of.
Over
the past few years, hair extensions have also become a popular treatment for
thinning hair, with brands such as Hairdreams designed specifically for this
purpose. These brands are applied in a way which helps to add volume to
thinning hair, whilst promoting healthy growth of the wearer’s natural hair.
Being a sometimes costly investment, it is imperative that hair extension
clients look after their hair after application. Not only will this help their
extensions look better for longer, but it can also increase the longevity of
your extensions.
Quick
And Easy Guide of Hair Extension
1. After your Hair Extension application, refrain from shampooing the hair for
48 hours.
2. Brush hair daily using a soft-bristled brush.
3. Brush hair starting from the ends, working upwards towards the extensions.
NEVER brush directly onto the extension bonds.
4. Hold the bonds of the extensions as you brush.
5. Come bedtime, tie hair into a loose ponytail or plait to prevent tangling of
the extensions.
6. When washing hair, wash with extensions down. Refrain from scrubbing product
into the hair as this may cause the bonds to loosen.
7. Absorb water with a towel; never use the towel to rub the moisture from the
hair as the hair can tangle.
8. Never allow your hair to stay wet for long periods of time, especially
during sleep. Always ensure to dry hair thoroughly.
9.
Although it is safe to use heated styling appliances with natural hair
extensions, be sure to never apply heat or a heated appliance directly onto the
