Hair Extensions Are Officially Back!
Over the years, hair extensions and the celebs that sport them have received their fair share of criticism. When you think of hair extensions you immediately think of WAG-esque, extra long, over-styled locks however, nowadays modern hair extensions are used to create volume, length and even the very latest coveted dip-dye effect. Hair extensions no longer look dated; in fact today they are looking more natural and versatile than ever before.
When you think about celebrities and hair extensions, you automatically think of Cheryl Cole. Ms Cole’s use of hair extensions has been well documented over the years and she has admitted that her long locks are a ‘safety blanket’ when creating her signature style. Over the years Cheryl has experimented with both length and colour, going from a short bob to long flowing locks seemingly overnight. She has also been a right red head in the past but recently has returned to her roots and her natural chocolate brown colour. Everyone has their own opinion of Ms Cole’s hair styling choices but this hasn’t stopped more and more celebs stepping out with longer locks.
The most recent additions to the hair extension crew are Jessica Alba and Drew Barrymore. Only last week, Ms Alba debuted her newly extended locks in LA. As ever her style is understated and sophisticated, proving the hair extensions don’t need to be extra long and extra big to look good. Hair extensions can be subtle and natural as Jessica Alba has proved; they don’t need to be over the top, they can just be an extension of your natural beauty.
As if you need more proof that hair extensions are back, only last week Drew Barrymore was seen hitting the red carpet with newly lengthened locks. Her long extensions were styled in loose waves and she was sporting the popular dip-dye look. Her look was beautifully natural with her grown-out roots and sun-bleached ends which just worked for her. Drew’s style also made women all over the world feel a little less guilty about missing yet another root touch-up appointment at the salon!
So that’s Cheryl, Drew and Jessica all seen out and about sporting gorgeous new locks, and you know what they say, three’s a trend. It is thanks to a-listers such as these that hair extensions have made their way back the fashion radar and we are loving them.
These three ladies may sport natural-looking mid-length styles but another firm fave amongst celebrities is the super-long, luxe look. The likes of Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson and Miley Cyrus are all responsible for launching the new hair trend for summer. This style is all about super long length and thickness to give a gorgeous boho effect.
However, super long hair extensions don’t just have to be reserved for celebs; you too can achieve the look. The price of hair extensions is determined by how much hair you want and how long you want the finished style to be, so this style doesn’t come cheap but it is worth it for the finished effect. Gorgeous long flowing looks just scream glamour, and even if you’re having a bad skin, style and body day all rolled into one your hardest working accessory will keep you smiling. Long flowing locks are the ultimate accessory for any glamorous girl, so if you can’t grow it, why not cheat with hair extensions!
