Hair Extensions: Make Every Day A Good Hair Day
Hair extensions have come on a long way these days. No longer do you have to put up with synthetic locks that can’t be styled and can potentially damage your hair; instead there is a wide range of different techniques and hair types on offer all designed to give you the hair of your dreams. In the past hair extensions looked fake and unnatural but nowadays new techniques and better quality hair has meant that extensions look better than ever.
Hair extensions are now giving women all over the world the sort of confidence they need to look and feel great everyday. As your hair is such a big part of your overall appearance it is little wonder that many women spend large amounts of money on pampering their locks every year. However, for some no amount of treatments and products can give them the hair of their dreams and it can be incredibly frustrating. Some women really struggle to get their hair to grow past a certain length and dream of long flowing locks and this is where hair extensions become the solution. As well as lengthening short hair, hair extensions can also thicken thin or fine hair and can add colour and texture to create the style you really want.
Hair extension techniques nowadays have really developed. You can choose from a range of different application techniques and you are now able to use the very best hair that money can buy. The two main categories of hair extensions are weft based extensions and single strands. A weft looks like a strip of hair and is usually taped, glued or sewn into your own hair. In general this method is cheaper than the single strand method as the results aren’t quite as natural but it is still a great way of instantly adding length to short styles.
As there are now so many methods of attaching hair extensions that it is really important to know the ins and outs of each one. Many people opt for weaving as an effective method of attaching hair extensions and this method involves the hair being sectioned into rows and each weft is then sewn or glued onto selected strands of your own hair. In order to get a smooth result, the extensions are usually attached very close to the scalp which can cause discomfort due to the tightness of the braid. Despite this, weaving is still a very popular method as it uses no chemicals in the application process. If you opt for a weave then you will need to visit the salon for regular maintenance appointments so that the extensions can be re-tightened if needed.
Bonding is another popular hair extensions technique. This method uses a chemical or a glue which forms an adhesive to attach the hair extensions to your own hair. Bonding usually utilises the individual strand technique in which the extension hair is attached closely to the scalp to create a naturally beautiful look. When it comes to taking the extensions out, all you need to do is to go back to the salon where you had the extensions fitted and the stylist will use a remover that dissolves the bond and the extensions will just fall out.
Fusion bonding is another name for bonding but with more sophisticated techniques. Fusion can be warm or cold, link/lock fusion or fusion loops. The technique uses pre-tipped extension hair strands that are coated with a chemical that fuses with your natural hair.
Clip-in hair extensions are another hair extension method but these are temporary. They can clip in and out whenever you want to inject a bit of glamour into your look and change up your style. Clip in hair extensions can be clipped in close to the scalp to give a natural look. Clip ins tend to be of a lower quality that more permanent extensions so make sure you shop around to find the best quality you can afford.
Hair extensions can make the world of difference to how you look and feel, if you fancy dramatically changing your look without having to go for the chop then this is the solution.
