Hair Replacement With Extension

Part of the hair replacement system family is the use of hair extension. Just like hair pieces, this too can be made up of human hair and synthetic. The only difference is that it is not like wigs where there are bases made either by polymer or mesh. The extension is a row of hair or weft. It is woven to the existing hair through a needle and a special chord. It is then important that when a person opts for extensions, there is still quite amount of hair left especially at the top. The idea is that while the top part is thinning, there is additional hair placed on it as extension to make it more voluminous.

Aside from sewing or weaving, there is more extensive way of attaching it. It involves hand tied knots to make tracks where the extension is attached. The extension needs considerable amount of time to attach. Also, when well-done by professionals, it could last 6 to 8 weeks; depending on how fast your hair grows. Then you would need maintenance; reattaching and tightening it.

The use of hair extensions is better than using adhesives which can sometimes damage the existing hair. Also, it does not affect the scalp as adhesive do. Nevertheless, it must be done by professional hair stylist or technicians. Otherwise, it could mess up the existing hair and may not look good. When a person is just starting to get bald or at least has mild baldness, the extension could create amazing natural-looking hair.
