How to Get Emo Hair
You can't be truly Emo without the right hairstyle. Emo hair started out black and short, covering half the face, but it has evolved into colours. The password is individualism. This means that you can have totally blonde hair down to your waist, short, black with purple bangs or anything else in between. Colours are cool, though black is considered the norm. Just be sure you get the permanent colours so they don't turn blond the next day.
Girls usually go for short bobs with long, vibrantly coloured bangs. Sweep them to the side so they cover one eye. For those who want long hair, go for chunky layers with highlights. Guys get into the gel for a spiky look at the back, with the front smoothed down. Keep that fringe long and dye it a lighter shade. Use gel to straighten out waves or use a straightener. If your hair is really curly, straighten just the front section.
To get those important spikes, blow-dry it while hanging upside down. Okay, just bending over will do the trick. Even if it's already dry, this will give the required look. Once you are happy with the style and colour, add bows or any other funky kind of accessory such as hair clips. Even guys can wear them.
