Hair Styling and Flat Irons

Many hair-straightening and hairstyling fanatics are not fully aware of the great benefits of using a flat iron with tourmaline ionic properties. Sedu hairstyles are a very popular trend these days, and the major contributing factor to getting this fashionable look is using a hair tool that uses this specific technology: Tourmaline.

Granted Sedu is not the only hair tools brand out there that utilizes this technology, in my personal experience, they manufacture the makes best products out there that are available for purchase by everyday consumers and not just salon professionals.

Tourmaline is actually a semi-precious gemstone that is comprised mainly of a crystal silicate mineral compound. It is well-known for its ionic properties. This gemstone is crushed and compounded into the ceramic plates of the hair straightener. When the hair straightener is heated and ready for use, the ceramic plates then emit negative ions produced from the tourmaline.

Negative ions are what enables your hair to be styled. The also smooth out your hair and prevent static to maximize straightness and silkiness. Tourmaline technology has been duplicated by many name brands as well as many generic brands of hair tools. From personal experience, I can honestly say that generic brands do not perform as well, and do not last as long as the name brands out there. I personally prefer Sedu flat irons because they are extremely effective, do not damage my hair, and straightens my hair very quickly.

So as not to seem overly biases to Sedu, other comparable brands include Solia, T3, and GHD. The Solia flat iron is a bit heavier than Sedu, but many have seemed to view these two as near equals. T3 has been a trusted and authoritative brand in hair salons for a while now. T3 products are used by my personal hair stylist and work very well. However, they are pricey. I have seen GHD used by celebrity hairstylists on television.

Although I cannot vouch for them personally, GHD must have some merit if they are being used by these well-known hairstylists. What to Consider When Choosing a Hair Straightener If you are in the midst of deciding which hair straightener to choose, I recommend choosing a name brand that has ceramic, tourmaline, and ionic technology. Hair straighteners containing these properties will immensely contribute to a great hairstyle.
