Its not often in the fickle fashion industry that many styles make the hundred years old mark, but one style that has done so is the bob haircut.
Lately, the bob has become more and more popular with celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Katie Holmes, Twiggy and Jessica Alba sporting the famous cut.
The man responsible for the original bob was a Parsienne hairdresser called Antoine. He created the hairstyle to change the way women viewed their locks and to change their role in society. When women first appeared with the bob it caused quite a frenzy with men, who were used to seeing their women with long, flowing locks.
One of the first celebs to make the bob truly her own was actress Louise Brooks, who sported the style in '20s. Since then, the style has evolved through the ages - the latest reinvention of which has to be Victoria Beckham's Pob!
The great thing about the bob is that is flatters almost every face shape and you can choose from and array of styles and cuts. Kate Moss has been spotted wearing her DIY bob long and wavy, while Agyness Deyn has a short and blunt version.
