The Facts About Non-surgical Hair Replacement.

Nowadays, there are many different medical treatments to treat conditions such as alopecia and hair thinning. The options are becoming more technically advanced as well and non-surgical hair replacement does not have to simply mean wigs, toupees and hair pieces any longer. Non-surgical replacement techniques have become increasingly sophisticated in recent years and for a lot people now offer the most appropriate solution for hair loss problems.

So if hair non-surgical hair replacement doesn’t mean wearing a wig, what does it actually mean? Firstly, today’s techniques are a lot more technically advanced in terms of comfort, subtlety and the way they look than traditional wigs. In a lot of cases, wigs are a huge restriction on daily life imposing huge lifestyle limitations such as swimming and exercising. However, the new advancements in non-surgical hair replacement are a lot easier to live with and involve applying a thin, light, transparent membrane to the scalp which has human hair already attached to it. This membrane is then attached to the scalp and carefully integrated in with the existing hair to give a natural effect that blends perfectly.

The use of real human hair means that it can be matched perfectly to the existing hair in terms of colour, density and texture. This is essential if the results are to be perfectly natural-looking. The membrane is attached to the scalp using the very latest bonding materials so you can wear it with confidence even when swimming or playing sport.

One of the best non-surgical hair replacement methods available is the Hair Thickening system by Hairdreams. The method uses the same membrane method as mentioned before, but the hair used is of the highest quality possible. The match between the hair and the natural hair is also extremely accurate in order to give the best results possible.

Firstly, you will undergo an initial design consultation to ensure that the product is tailored to sit naturally with your existing hair, colour and style. Hairdreams offers a bespoke product that is tailor-made to your individual needs whether you have extremely fine hair and are looking for added volume or if you have suffered some hair loss and need areas covering.

Non-surgical hair replacement tends to be the best option for those suffering with hair thinning or balding as for a lot of people medications and so-called ‘miracle’ products don’t always work. Of course, it is entirely up to the client whether they decide to turn to surgery but it is often a last resort. The success of surgery tends to rely on a person having enough hair so it to be moved around the head from the ‘donor area.’ Surgery is not considered a sustainable treatment either, as there is a danger that if you continue to lose hair in the future you will need to undergo more surgery.

Non-surgical hair replacement does not damage or remove the existing hair; therefore your own hair will be protected. However, while non-surgical transplants may suit some people, they are not for everyone. There are some disadvantages including the need for regular ongoing maintenance to ensure that the product remains as natural-looking as possible. For example, if you need a hair cut then you will need to return to the hair replacement surgery to have the membrane removed and the hair trimmed. It is not just a case of walking in to your local salon for a trim. You should also be aware that the membrane does wear out over time and you will need to replace it regularly. Added to the initial cost of the membrane, the regular maintenance trips will all add up to quite a substantial amount of money. It is important to remember that non-surgical replacement is not just a one-off cost.
