Why The CHI Wet To Dry Flat Iron Is The Best

The Wet To Dry flat iron is becoming ever more popular. This type of straightener can be less damaging on hair and of course it's a lot quicker to straighten your hair as you don't first have to dry it. Of the many models on offer the CHI Wet To Dry flat iron is the best and here's why.

Traditional hair straighteners can only be used on hair that has first been blow dried. This means that hair is subjected twice to high temperatures. Any kind of excessive heat is damaging for hair, so when trying to straighten hair, you're really exposing your hair to more heat than normal.

This is the main advantage to using a wet to dry flat iron; you only expose your hair to high, damaging heat one time. I suspect many also like using them because it makes straightening hair a whole lot easier and quicker.

There are now quite a few models on the market, but the one that stands out for me is the CHI Wet to Dry flat iron. What really sets it apart from other tools are its features and ease of use. For instance, it has a digital control and monitor. You can set the temperature to any that you want and you can read the display to make sure it's at the right operating temperature. You can even set a timer to switch it off automatically after you're done using it.

By comparison, the Corioliss Tourmaline Wet to Dry flat iron has no temperature control; it's set to 430F and that's it. Perhaps, with wet hair you can get away with such a high temperature but on dry hair, its temperature is just way too hot for most hair types.

The Wigo Damp to Dry flat iron is okay but it comes with 2" plates that are just too wide for most hair types - the CHI comes with 1" plates which are what most people prefer. Also, the larger the plates, the heavier and more tiring the straightener becomes.

Which brings us to the Maxiglide Wet to Dry flat iron: It really is the biggest and heaviest on the market. True, it does allow you to use 'bursts of steam' to help straighten out difficult bits - some will love this feature - the handles are just too wide to comfortably handle for most women.

If there is one serious contender, it has to be the T3 Tourmaline Wet to Dry flat iron. Its sleek design and lightweight construction make using it a breeze. It also has fully controllable temperature settings - though not digital - and it has tourmaline plates. But, what is especially attractive is its price; around $145 compared to the CHI's price tag of $175.

If you're looking to buy the best wet to dry flat iron then it boils down to either the CHI or the T3. I prefer the functionality of the CHI but there are those that'll prefer the price of the T3. Either is a top rated product and will deliver results consistently.
