Everyone wants smooth, silky, shiny healthy hair – especially in summer, when the last thing you want to do is sit and blow-dry or style your hair for hours.

If you struggle with frizz or find your hair hard to handle, we’re here to help. At Inanch London, we provide two smoothing services that both provide the permanent blow-dry look, with options for all hair types.

We offer Hair Botox and Keratin Smoothing in the salon, and while they have similar benefits (frizz reduction, a smooth and shiny appearance and enhanced manageability), there are some key differences between the services.

Keep reading to learn more about which of these transformative treatments is right for you, and to discover the benefits.

What is Hair Botox?

Just like your favourite facial filler, Hair Botox 'fills' any gaps or breakage in your hair fibres and seals split ends, leaving it soft, healthy, smooth and strong. It's a non-chemical, deep conditioning treatment which uses a blend of premium ingredients including proteins, amino acids and antioxidants to repair the cuticle and coat the surface of the hair. It enhances condition and shine, and reduces frizz.

Who is Hair Botox suitable for?

Hair Botox is suitable for all hair types that look and feel dull, dry and frizzy. It is a great option if you’re keen to avoid using harsh chemicals – for example if your hair is bleached or sensitised.

It's particularly good for finer hair as it helps maintain volume, and won't leave hair flat – just healthy, glossy and full of life.

It will not straighten the hair, but will make curls and waves easier to manage.

How long do the results last?

Up to 12 weeks.

What happens during the treatment?

Hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo to remove any residue and prepare the cuticles for treatment. Hair is then dried, and the Hair Botox treatment is applied in fine sections and combed through. It is left on for up to 30 minutes, before being washed off. Hair is then blow-dried and the treatment is sealed in with straighteners.

The service takes between 2-3 hours depending on your hair length and thickness.

How do I maintain the results?

We recommend using a sulphate-free shampoo to help maintain the treatment at home. Your stylist will be able to help you find the perfect choice from our retail selection.

How much does it cost?

For a three-hour intense treatment: £300-400, dependent on hair length

Express upgrade treatment with blow-dry: £40 - £50 + blow-dry price

What is Keratin Smoothing?

Keratin Smoothing is a chemical treatment that straightens and smoothes the hair, removes frizz, and makes it more manageable.

Keratin Smoothing enriches the hair with keratin, as well as nourishing proteins and vitamins, to leave it healthier and stronger. Crucially, it helps get hair under control for a permanent blow-dry effect, that's easy to manage even in hot, humid weather.

Who is Keratin Smoothing suitable for?

Keratin Smoothing is perfect for anyone with thick, coarse and curly hair that’s prone to frizz and is otherwise hard to handle.

As well as smoothing and straightening the hair, it reduces excess volume for a sleeker finish – making it a perfect choice for those with very thick hair.

Keratin Smoothing is not suitable for those with damaged or over-processed hair, and we would not recommend it for those with very fine hair.

How long do the results last?

Up to 3 months.

What happens during the treatment?

We offer two Keratin Smoothing treatments, dependent on hair type. During your consultation, we will let you know which is best suited to you.

Their application process differ slightly:

For our first treatment, the solution is applied to hair that is dry, but dampened down. Working in small sections, it is combed through for an even application. It is left on for up to 50 minutes, then rinsed off with cold water. Hair is then blow-dried straight, and smoothed over with straighteners to seal in the treatment.

For the second treatment, hair is prepared with a clarifying shampoo. It is then towel-dried, and the treatment is combed through damp hair in fine sections. It is then blow-dried into the hair (without rinsing) and sealed in with straighteners. Hair is then washed, treated with a mask, and blow-dried as normal.

The service takes between 2-3 hours depending on your hair length and thickness.

How do I know which smoothing treatment is right for me?

Hair Botox enhances the appearance of dry, dull and damaged hair by adding shine, reducing frizz and split ends, and improving the overall condition. It will not straighten your hair, but it will make it more manageable.

It’s suitable for all hair types, and is a good choice for those with finer hair or anyone with sensitised hair.

Keratin Smoothing straightens and smoothes the hair, reduces frizz, and makes it quicker and easier to style.

It is best suited to those with thick, curly and coarse hair, who struggle with frizz and find their hair hard to manage.

If you’ve got questions about either service, or want a consultation to learn more and discover which is right for you, give us a call at the salon where we’ll be happy to explain the benefits and differences.
